Frequently Asked Questions
CANDLE BURNING
Make sure to burn your candle for at least 2 – 3 hours, depending on the size of the container, or until the top layer has completely liquefied all the way to the edges. This is the most important stage because your subsequent burn is dependent on your first burn. If a full melt pool is not obtained, or if enough time is not allowed for the wax to liquefy, this will result in tunnelling and the formation of a memory.
TRIM YOUR WICK
Use scissors, nail clippers, or a wick trimmer to trim the wick of your candle. This will ensure that candles burn for a longer period of time and are safer to use.
We hand cut each wick so that your initial burn is safe, but keep it trimmed if it becomes too long.
Always maintain your wick below 1cm before burning your candle or every 3 hours. If you don’t have a wick trimmer, pinching the wick with your fingertips is another option.
CENTER YOUR WICK
Before each burn, carefully guide the wick to the candle’s centre. This will ensure that the candle burns evenly and not on one side more than the other.
If the wick is not centered, the glass may become overheated and break.
Once your candle has acquired this memory, it will be difficult to achieve a complete melt and will tunnel throughout. Properly burning your candle will allow you to utilize the full candle while minimizing waste.
By following these guidelines, you may extend the life of your candle and create a warm, inviting atmosphere in your home. Happy candle-lighting!
Don’t worry; we experienced the same thing when we were testing! It seems that this is the best approach to verify that your candle is made entirely of soy. With soy wax, bumpy surfaces are extremely common since they result from the candle’s variable rate of cooling. Your candle may dry with an uneven surface occasionally or it may dry perfectly smooth. What is good news? This is all-natural and has no impact on how well your candle performs.
Don’t sweat! If you accidentally tunneled your candle, there is a simple fix. When lighting the wick, you have to create a foil wrap and wrap it over the tin’s top and sides. The candle will develop an oven inside of which the candle’s edges will melt. Always keep your candle light on the initial burn until all the wax has melted to the rim since this creates a memory ring for the subsequent burn.
We do, indeed! Because it can be difficult to smell candles online, we’ve developed a special kit that allows you to sample them before you buy. With our sample kit, you can choose 4 different 25g minis.
